THE WOOTTONS Serving in Uganda

Welcome and thank you for taking a moment to connect with our family and ministry. We are Isaac and Clea Wootton, and for nearly two decades the Lord has given us the privilege of serving in East Africa, especially here in Uganda. What began as a simple “yes” to God has grown into years of discipleship, pastoral training, evangelism, church planting, and deep friendships with precious believers across the region. Our heart is simple:
To know Jesus deeply, make disciples faithfully, strengthen pastors biblically, and see healthy churches established throughout East Africa.

Thank you for praying with us, standing with us, and sharing in what God is doing.

We have lived out this truth: “where God guides, He provides.”

Our Story

Isaac grew up in Israel and later studied in the United States, where he met Clea. In 2006 we received a strong and unmistakable call from God that led us to leave the United States and move to Africa. It was a radical step of obedience leaving comfort, careers, and stability behind. Our mission was to reach, disciple, and train men for ministry. We first served in Kenya, then relocated to Uganda in 2008. Uganda became home.Over the years God has allowed us to walk alongside pastors, students, church leaders, and families throughout the region—from busy towns and growing cities to refugee settlements and remote villages.
We have seen lives transformed by the gospel, leaders strengthened by God’s Word, and new churches planted through faithful discipleship.
Our ministry has grown, but the focus has remained the same:
Life-on-life discipleship centered on Scripture, prayer, the Holy Spirit, and obedience to Jesus.
We serve as a family. Clea’s mother Connie lives and serves with us. Our children have grown up with ministry as part of our everyday life. Our family was a constant witness and testimony to the disciples we lived with. Today our grown children returned to their ancestral homeland of Israel, to serve as a light and witness among the Jewish people.

Making disciples who make disciples

OUR PRIORITY

DISCIPLESHIP & SCHOOL OF MINISTRYThis aspect of ministry is what we are most passionate about, and where we have seen the greatest long term fruit. We run a two-year intensive School of Ministry out of our home in Jinja, Uganda. Students don’t just attend classes but live closely with us in a relational discipleship environment.Students are trained in:
• the Bible
• teaching and preaching
• prayer
• worship
• evangelism
• servant leadership
• practical ministry
• discipleship and mentoring
We believe that true discipleship is costly, intentional, and deeply relational. Our desire is not only to teach students, but to raise up disciple-makers who will go and invest in others for years to come. It's exciting to see how many of our graduates have started their own School's of Ministry.

PASTORAL TRAINING - EVANGELISM - CHURCH PLANTING

WHAT WE DO

PASTORAL & BIBLICAL TRAININGWe have a deep commitment to discipleship, shaping men who will faithfully serve and lead.
Many pastors across East Africa faithfully shepherd churches without access to solid biblical training.
Through teaching partnerships, conferences, mentoring, and Bible training programs, we help equip pastors and church planters with practical biblical tools for long-term ministry.
These trainings have reached:
• pastors in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, and South Sudan
• pastors in refugee communities
• leaders in Muslim dominated areas
• leaders and staff in humanitarian and Christian organizations
• urban and rural leaders throughout East Africa
Our burden is to strengthen leaders with God’s Word and equip them for their ministry work.

EVANGELISM & OUTREACH
Evangelism has always been a central part of our ministry.
Over the years:
• gospel tracts and literature have been printed and distributed widely
• resources have been translated into multiple African languages
• students regularly participate in practical evangelism
• churches have been strengthened through outreach
Door-to-door ministry, discipleship follow-up, and gospel conversations continue to open many doors.
We believe:
The gospel is the power of God for salvation.

CHURCH PLANTING
Discipleship naturally leads to church plants.
As believers grow in Christ and begin discipling others, healthy churches are born.
Many ministry graduates have gone on to:
• plant churches
• start their own School of Ministry
• lead discipleship groups
• strengthen existing fellowships
• train younger leaders
We pray for a healthy, Bible-based, Christ-centered, Spirit-led church in every village and town in East Africa.
